Top WordPress Plugins for Internet Marketers – Part 1

I’ve spent some time working on this blog post mainly because I wanted to be sure that I was passing along the greatest content I possibly could.

I looked at different plug-in reviews and trialed them on my own blog.

I studied different courses, and what I found, I present to you now.

What I present to you here is my overall tried and tested list for the “Top WordPress plugins.” Not only did I include the best SEO plugins for you blog, but I also included some plugins to help give your readers and subscribers a more friendly “environment” when they visit your blog.

The plugins I include here are plugins that I currently have running on my blog. They are increasing the traffic and rankings to my blog as I write this. But, because the list is so long, I broke this article into two parts. A link to the second half can be found at the end of this article.

You may want to know that if you are running wordpress, there is an easy way to add each plugin. You simply go to your WordPress backoffice, select “Plugins”, then “add new”, and select any of the plugins I have selected here and put it in the “search plugins” window.

When the description comes up for that specific plugin, simply click the “Install” link, and WordPress will automatically download and install the plugin for you.

Anyways, this is the first half, and they are in no particular order, but I will mention that I put the SEO plugins at the beginning.

All In One SEO Pack – This is a MUST HAVE for SEO optimization of your blog posts. The idea is that you want to optimize each post – not just your main blog site. With the All in One SEO, you will be able to edit the title, meta description, and keywords for each individual post – not just your main blog site.

On each individual post you create, there is an area named All in one SEO in the editing window where you can tweak the title, keywords and descriptions.

Headspace 2 – This plugin is All In One SEO Pack on steroids.

Now, that will probably tempt you to want to use it over All In One SEO, BUT I will warn you that is it a bit more difficult to set up.

Google XML Site Maps – Sitemaps are an easy way for you to inform search engines about pages on your blog. Basically, a Google Sitemap is a file which contains URLs and some additional information for all public pages or documents of your website. Google can read this file and add the defined pages to their index.

In other words – it’s a “map” telling the search engines to come take a look and crawl through the site and to “look at me, look at me!”

No-Follow Blogroll SEO – If you are familiar with SEO, you know that linking out to other sites from every single page of your site (such as a blogroll or internal linking does) can hurt your SEO. You lose too much “link juice.”

This plugin will allow you to give “link love” (via a followed link) to sites in your Blogroll from the homepage of your blog, which is most likely the strongest page anyway in terms of SEO link juice.

Simple Tags – This plugin is a way to improve your tags or keyword selections. This plugin includes suggested tags, related tags, a tag-cloud, and autocompletion tags suggestions.

MyBlogLog – This is actually a social networking widget run by Yahoo.com. When you load this plugin, you can have a widget on your screen.

Just place the widget in your side bar and you can add a community to your blog

The widget will show you recent readers to your blog, and then within MyBlogLog, you can view stats on where they come from, what they viewed, and where they went.

Where Does that Leave Things?

Feel like you’re missing something? That’s because you are. This is only the first half of this article on the top WordPress plugins for internet marketers.
